HOW IT WORKS Like psychological interventions, SCREEN has effectiveness hypotheses
1. Vivid thoughts of an event create ‘negative’ emotions. If thoughts are less vivid, the mind is freer
2. Feeling not in control creates negative emotions. SCREEN gives the mind a ‘remote control tool’
3. ‘Negative’ emotions result from a negative event. SCREEN links the event to more positive emotions
4. Help different emotions separately. E.g. SCREEN sadness, anger and guilt 3 times on 3 occasions

RE-APPLICATION In the following cases, SCREEN may be re-applied as needed.
1. If an event has ended, emotions may not return. But ongoing events may return emotions
2. Genetically inherited emotional condition could, after therapy, re-manifest the emotion.

SCREEN - Specially Controlled Remote End of Emotional Negatives

Allan J. Sweeney based SCREEN on a psychiatrist’s teachings, and successfully taught/used it globally.

ADVANTAGES OF USING SCREEN 1. Years of therapy not needed. 2. Medication may reduce!
3. Therapists don’t need to know traumatic details! 4. Patients don’t need to tell others their problems!

BENEFITS for emotional and mental issues – e.g. anger, fear, guilt, hate, hurt, sadness, worry, etc
1. Fast – between 3-8 emotional or mental issues can be alleviated in just one session
2. Effective – according to a psychiatrist, about 75% of cases improve in one session
3. Easy – no experience necessary, just the ability to follow instructions
4. Safe – there are no known negative side-effects
5. Permanent – if a limitation does not apply, the emotion about that event is unlikely to return
6. Repeatable – tell your friends and family soon – this may help them too!

PREPARATION Turn off phone; sit in quiet spot; feet flat on floor; base of spine against chair; one hand on each leg; close eyes. If needed become more comfortable. Breathe deeply. Relax. Do not do SCREEN too fast. Think of each of the below points 1 to 20 before moving on, as exactly as you can.

SCREEN THERAPY – READ AND RE-READ 1 TO 20, TO UNDERSTAND BEFORE DOING

1. Think of a situation from your past that still causes you bad emotions, feelings or thoughts today

2. Think of that situation briefly, till focussed. As in steps below, do not move on till you are focussed

3. Imagine you are in an empty theatre, sitting in the front row. Up on the stage in front of you is a television set. The TV is playing that scene from your past, in full colour. Think until focussed on it...

4. Watch yourself in the scene, interacting with any people there, and what was said or done. Think...

5. Write on paper, a description of how watching that scene makes you feel.

6. Write a score for your feelings out of 10 (where 10 is the worst possible and 1 is nothing). Think...

7. Imagine you can move to the back of the theatre, or upper circle, furthest from the stage/TV. Think...

8. Imagine you can look down at the little TV screen on the stage, very small in the distance . Focus...

9. Imagine a remote control in your hand. It’s unimportant what type. Think until focussed on it...

10. Find a way to press a button on the remote control to turn the picture to black and white. Think...

11. When done, press a button to turn the volume down until it’s quieter, or silent. Think till focussed

12. Now turn the contrast down, so blacks and whites become one greyish or whitish colour. Focus...

13. When done press a button to rewind back to just before the event began, as fast as possible. Focus...

14. Think of the scene again, and write down a description of how watching that scene makes you feel now – is it the same, changed into something positive enough, or has it gone. Think carefully...

15. Give these feelings a score out of 10 (where 10 is the worst they could be and 1 is nothing). Think...

16. Is the feeling and score in 14-15 the same, different, or gone. Consider as precisely as possible...

17. Now think of a different past event that still makes you feel bad today. Focus... Repeat 1 to 16

18. If you did these two events fast, do more. Some people do up to 6 to 8 events in one session. Others do 2 to 3 if it was a slow process or there’s not much time. Think and focus on your needs...

19. Now think of the events you used SCREEN for, where something is still the same, or not positive enough. Think... Then repeat stages 1 to 16 on each event separately to try to help it more. Focus...

20. 3 days later repeat 1 to 19 if something isn’t healed enough, and/or on totally different problems

NB: Seek professional help if something persists after SCREEN.
